Weddings

We are blessed by a church building that is as comfortable inside as it is beautiful out. Some things you need to know if you are planning your wedding.

A wedding (known officially as a Service of Marriage) is an occasion of making solemn vows before God and our vcar will expect you to see both of you to explain what this means.

We ask both of you to come to join to the services in the run up to the wedding, so you can meet us and find out more about the Christian faith and the church. We also have a short marriage preparation course. Normally at least one of you should be living in the parish.

Most of the people that come to be married in Christ Church will not have been married before. Under some circumstances, it may be possible for divorcees to be married in church.

Please remember to ask for an organist to be present if one is required. A choir is not normally available as we don't have one during Sunday services. Flower arrangers can have access to the church in advance by prior arrangement. Don't forget to ask the vicar about the hymns and songs that you want, to help make it your special day.

We hope you have a wonderful day.
