Lighthouse Furniture Project Ltd
Lighthouse Furniture Project Limited is a Christian charity based in Hutton, which serves the community through the collection, repair and re-sale of furniture, appliances and household items. The scheme is open to everybody and our primary aim is to help homeless people or those in some form of housing crisis.
We are urgently seeking committed volunteers who enjoy meeting people, who want to serve the community through this very valued service abd are able to help us in the following ways:
- To answer the phone for all or part of a day during office hours, dealing with enquiries, customer service and updating records in a log book and database. The ability to work with a mix of people from different backgrounds would be helpful. Full training will be provided.
- Warehouse assistants to help sort, clean and repair donated crockery, linen and furniture and to show people around.
- Van assistants able to help the driver load and unload collections and deliveries. Need to be fit and reasonably strong. Training in health and safety will be provided.
Volunteers' travel expenses will be paid and lunch and refreshments will be provided.
We work with a number of referral agencies including Social Services, Brentwood Council, Homestart, CAB, local housing trusts, Community Mental Health team to serve those in need, typically people referred to us by our partners, as well as the general public.
