Boys Brigade
The 1st Warley Boys Brigade was founded by Carey Longmore in November 1889, which makes it the oldest BB unit in continuous existence. It has now three different groups for ages 6 right through to 18. Boys in the BB enjoy football, swimming, a marching band, a great summer camp and a lot more. Anchor Boys (ages 6-8) and Juniors (8-11) meet at 6.30pm on Fridays. Company Section (12-18) meets on Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm.
1st WARLEY COMPANYOur new Brigade year is now underway and Nicky Gaughan has been promoted to Sergeant, Murray Dedman to Corporal, Rory Puxley and Katherine Bowering to Lance Corporal. We had to say goodbye to Glen Dorrington who is off to University. With several Boys moving up from Juniors into the Company Section our Band will be strengthened and one of the highlights they are looking forward to is taking part (as part of the London Boys Brigade Bugle Band) in the Lord Mayors Show on 8th November. This is part of the Brigade 125 year celebrations. As you may know one of our officers Jim Smith suffered a slight stroke but we are pleased to say he is recovering well. This means we are low on helpers so if anyone feels they could help out on a Friday night please speak to Roger Gammon or one of the other officers.

In August, 15 boys and officers enjoyed the annual summer camp held at Fakenham this year. Despite being a very wet week, it was a good time with a cruise on the Norfolk Broads, and visits to Walsingham, Cromer and Hunstanton.
